Grooved Pins

A solid, headless pin of fixed diameter and length, with crowned ends and longitudinal channels rolled or pressed into the body causing displacement of the pin material.

For temporary fastenings achieved by inserting the pin into a specifically sized hole, causing the pin stock to compress and become constrained against the hole wall. Can be preferable to a threaded fastener because the hole need only be drilled, not tapped.
